Maritime Cove Community Park
Maritime Cove Community Park overlooks Sandridge Beach foreshore at the western end of Port Melbourne (near Webb Dock). It is a great park with interesting play areas that kids of all ages will enjoy! You won’t find the usual playground equipment here…instead you’ll discover unique play structures including maritime elements such as buoys, channel markers and a crows nest!
The water play area is a great addition to the playground, although it’s not large, it is enough to keep the kids entertained and cool on those hot days. A great feature is the wooden see-saw that actually pumps water when in use which sets off the water jets! Just watch out for fellow playground users that may be caught off-guard by the water spray!
The playground is set on gravel/sand – enclosed shoes are advisable as the surface can be pretty harsh on the feet. There are a couple of sheltered seating areas (within shipping-style containers) surrounding the playground. Parking is available adjacent to the play area and the Life Saving Club is located nearby with toilet facilities and a kiosk.
