Royal Park Nature Playground is an exciting all abilities playground close to Melbourne’s CBD. There is enough to keep kids of all ages entertained! Come and see what’s on offer…
You’ll find Royal Park Nature Playground in Parkville, located next to the Royal Children’s Hospital. It’s a playground with a difference designed to challenge and excite kids of all ages and abilities. As the name suggests, the playground is a natured-based play space with plenty of grassy areas for the whole family to enjoy.
Key features include the numerous slides set against the rocky hills at different levels, the gigantic wooden climbing structures and climbing ropes (suited to older kids), a nest swing and the water play area which includes a water pump (small but welcoming in hot weather!). Pack a towel and a change of clothes in case the kids go for a splash.
Head to the top of the hill behind the playground for a great view over the park and of the CBD skyline!
Facilities at Royal Park Nature Playground include picnic tables, BBQs and drinking fountains. However, there are no toilets on site (nearest are at the Royal Children’s Hospital) and shade is limited. Restricted parking is available on-street.
